For SoHope, we envision an organization dedicated to the impactful reduction of the circumstances that hinder success within our community: poverty, crime, illiteracy, homelessness, and all social ills that plague our society. We envision a living, evolving organization that strives to better not only the community but ourselves as well. We provide training, educational opportunities, and a sustainable business model that empowers our board, staff, and constituents with equitable and fair employment guidance, knowledge, and transformational servant leadership. We will create leaders at the forefront of innovation and change for the communities wherever they reside, be it in Detroit or Dubai. Building Stronger Communities

We at SoHope value the many sacrifices of our veterans. The tireless hours and training, their unwavering courage in the path of obstinate obstacles, and bravery in the face of life-threatening oppositions. SoHope was founded, built, and managed by veterans and those sympathetic to their cause, whose commitment to service members and their families runs deep. SoHope Veterans Programs offer:
Housing Services
SoHope offers counseling and guidance for veterans concerning Rapid Rehousing programs, Temporary and Emergency shelter, Transitional Housing, Rehabilitative services, Financial, Credit, and Budgeting classes.We will also provide referrals to Veteran and civilian agencies that can help provide assistance for all our veterans housing needs.
Education Services
SoHope provides assistance and counseling for veterans seeking higher education. Assistance with requesting the GI Bill, VRRAP and other educational benefits. Referrals through our community partners for tutoring and computer labs for homeless, at risk and in school Veterans, financial scholarships and assistance. Counseling for navigating the college, secondary, or training school enrollment process. SoHope provides all the referrals, resources and tools needed for enlightenment of the mind and academic success.
Employment Services
SoHope through our community partners and our Veteran Services referrals aim to provide our Veterans with the skills needed to successfully procure gainful employment and financial firmness. With programs like CWT (compensated work therapy) for disabled Veterans, our in-house employment services, resume building, interview etiquette classes, and job training, we seek to bridge the gap between poverty and unemployability while increasing financial health and stability.
Health Services
SoHope’s Veteran Services and counselors will host peer-to-peer workshops, online health registration, mental health referrals and screening, transportation to VA Hospital services and appointments, NA/AA Meetings, Anger/Stress management, and many more programs, classes, referrals, and support to help our “Heroes Heal”. SoHope will provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to our veteran community, whether homeless or in need of health services. SoHope will give all we can to help our service members heal mind, body, and spirit.
